The 2026 Race Around the World for Education raised over $47,000 for initiatives that support social and emotional learning (SEL). Donations will go towards programs that reach underserved communities, provide seating for children with low muscle tone, individual life and grief counseling for students who have lost their mothers, and so much more!
We are thankful for our sponsors who have helped us succeed in this initiative, including SAGO, a 2026 Victory Sponsor of the Race Around the World for Education.
Team SAGO ran, walked, biked, and swam 9,714.17 miles, earning them first place in the team race!
The first-place individual winner for biking, Cheryl Muldoon, was also part of Team Sago. Muldoon biked a total of 1432.08 miles and walked 174.1 miles for a total of 1,606.183 miles!
“Seeing Cheryl Muldoon at the top of the leaderboard again this year is so inspiring,” said Glynis Jensen, vice president of global HR partnerships, SAGO. “Cheryl is a great role model for all of us, and we are so proud to have her out in the lead for Team Sago!”
Jensen said it was awesome to see the team shoot past the initial goal of 5,000 miles.
“We crossed the 5,000-mark mid-month and just kept going, which really speaks to how engaged people were and how much they cared,” Jensen said. “It’s a great example of what ‘Be Passionate’ looks like at Sago.”
Sago’s purpose is to change the world by giving people a voice. Jensen said this sponsorship is an extension of this purpose because of the critical skills learned through SEL that give children the confidence and tools to speak up.
“At its core, supporting social and emotional learning is about building resilience, self-awareness, and connection – skills that enable individuals to find and use their voice,” Jensen said.
At the center of the marketing research and insight industry is an understanding of people and their preferences. Jensen said sponsoring the 2026 race is a meaningful way to support the work we do as researchers.
“Investing in programs that build life skills and expand access to education matters and reinforces how small efforts can drive significant collective impact!”
