The 2025 Race Around the World for Education raised money for STEAM education initiatives. The donations will help support programs working to provide young people with access to transformative learning experiences that forester creativity, problem-solving, and leadership.
With the help of sponsors and researchers across the world, over $50,000 was raised. These funds will have a major impact on many young people, thanks to the generosity of sponsors like Sago, a victor-level sponsor.
Sago, a founding member of the MREF, aligns with the mission to increase the accessibility of education globally. The fundraiser gives Sago’s team and the research industry the opportunity to turn their energy into impact, explained Melissa Harsch, strategic HR business partner at Sago.
“By joining forces as an industry, we’re not just logging miles, we’re helping open doors to education, providing access and opportunities that can shape the future for children worldwide,” Harsch said.
With a team of 36, Team Sago placed fourth overall with 5,114.49 miles. The individual winner of the 2025 Race Around the World for Education, Cheryl Muldoon, was a part of Sago’s team.
“Her [Muldoon’s] dedication embodies the spirit of Team Sago and the power of collective action,” Harsch said.
Harsch further explained that the competition brings out the passion and heart the marketing research industry – making every mile not just a mile but a representation of the impact on education worldwide.
“Every mile moved represents hope, possibility, and the belief that education has the power to change lives,” Harsch said. “We believe that even the smallest actions can spark meaningful change.”
