2025 Race Around the World for Education sponsor profile: PureSpectrum

The 2025 Race Around the World for Education raised over $50,000 for STEAM education initiatives in underserved communities throughout the U.S. This aid will support programs that provide English learners with books, offer STEAM activities in after-school settings, assist students pursuing careers in the performing arts, and much more.

Thanks to our sponsors at every level, including PureSpectrum, a victor-level sponsor, the MREF was able to have a sizable impact on these initiatives.

As an organization, PureSpectrum recognizes the importance of education in sustainable development of communities around the world. David Breihan, senior vice president at PureSpectrum, said the organization sees education as showing up and empowering local and global communities.

“Technology plays a key role in our future, and we focus on ways we can assist with bringing technology to those in underserved communities,” Breihan said.

This year Team PureSpectrum grew to 43 participants, all of whom were excited to participate and support each other through the fundraiser.

Breihan shared that the team even created a Slack channel specifically for the competition. The team is able to share photos and their journey throughout the race in the channel.

The PureSpectrum team walked, ran or biked a total of 6,971.72 miles, earning them the first-place team trophy. Two members of the team placed in the Top 10 individuals, with one coming in second.

“We are motivated by traction, and the MREF does a great job of making it easy for people to see their impact through their mileage tracking portal. This event leverages our natural competitive spirit in a way that really helps facilitate the fundraising aspect of MREF,” Breihan said. “These types of events connect people from different organizations, and I can't wait to participate each year.”
