Marketing Research Education Foundation (MREF) Launches Race Around the World for Education

Saint Paul, MN – The Marketing Research Education Foundation (MREF) will hold the Race

Around the World for Education, a 25,000-mile virtual race to help educate children around the

world. 90% of the funds raised will benefit UNICEF’s work in education worldwide, providing

learning opportunities for the most marginalized children in the world. Learn more about this

essential work at unicefusa.org/mission/protect/education.

During the race, individuals throughout the market research industry will log the miles they

walk, bike and run during the month of June 2021 – 30 days to complete a virtual walk around

the world and raise $100,000 to support global education for youth. MREF will sponsor the first

5,000 miles (a $20,000 gift).

MR organizations can participate by sponsoring the event. All sponsor levels include industrywide

visibility and the opportunity to create a race team (or teams) – including family, friends,

non-industry colleagues or clients. Participation is free for individuals and anyone is welcome to

join the MREF team and/or make a donation.

Some fun facts:

  • Participants will log their miles on the race website as part of a company team and will be able to see their progress compared to others in the industry.

  • The top five individuals with the highest number of logged miles, broken out by walk, run and bike, will each receive a $100 Visa Gift Card.

  • All participants will receive a customized race bib and number that can be downloaded and printed as desired (and used as proof for insurance companies that support healthy activities!).

  • Participants will receive milestone badges when they reach goals: participation for days in a row, number of miles, etc.

  • There is an easy portal to share photos and encourage each other.
