Forsta sponsored the Race Around the World for Education with a $5,000 gift to help provide essential aid to vulnerable Ukrainian children.
Saint Paul, MN – (June 22, 2022) – This May, more than 1,300 researchers joined together with colleagues, friends and family to run, bike and walk the MREF’s 2nd annual Race Around the World for Education – a virtual, global race to raise funds for kids in need – and raised an astounding $134,298 to aid children displaced by the war in Ukraine.
When Forsta signed on as a sponsor to the race with a $5,000 gift, the company had already committed to
providing aid during the crisis, having already donated $50,000 to the Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund in order to enable humanitarian assistance to people in Ukraine and Ukrainian refugees. With the support and donations from Forsta employees, they raised an additional $10,000 through corporate-matched contributions.
“As a company, Forsta decided early on we would do what we could to help the people of Ukraine,” says Kyle Ferguson, CEO at Forsta. “One of the values everyone at Forsta lives and works by is to ‘Dare to Try’; we believe improvements come by trying things, as a community.”
In addition to supporting the Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund, Forsta is also seeking to provide Ukrainian refugees with job opportunities. Since March, they have actively been working to fast-track job applications from displaced Ukrainians, with the hope of providing Ukrainian refugees with economic stability as they enter a new country.
“As the crisis continues, Ukrainian children and young people need vital support,” says Ferguson. “We can’t do this alone – it will take many people and organizations to get involved. We all have a part to play and in the spirit of the Forsta value, ‘All Together Better’, we believe working in collaboration with our peers across the industry. Together, we can accomplish more.”
“Vulnerable children might get overlooked even in less turbulent times and it’s essential we don’t leave anyone behind in this unfortunate situation,” Ferguson continues. “Being able to provide for them is incredibly important, and by bringing awareness to the MREF’s Race Around the World for Education, we can make a life-changing difference to so many.”
