Backpack Challenge Readathon sponsor highlight: FUEL + Focus Room

As a Patron of Pages sponsor, FUEL + Focus Room donated the equivalent of 100 backpacks full of school supplies to children in need in the U.S. and Canada.

The 2022 Marketing Research Education Foundation (MREF) Backpack Challenge Readathon ran from August 1 to September 16, and researchers from all over hit the books to raise money for school supplies for kids in need in the U.S. and Canada. Kids in Need Foundation (KINF) is one of the MREF’s Backpack Challenge partners. KNIF believes that every child should have equal opportunity and access to quality education and school supplies. The organization provides support to teachers and students by partnering with under-resourced schools across the U.S.

With the help of over 70 participants and our sponsors, we were able to raise more than $25,000!

One of our $2,500-level sponsors - Patron of Pages - was FUEL + The Focus Room. As a Patron of Pages sponsor, FUEL + Focus Room donated the equivalent of 100 backpacks full of school supplies to children in need in the U.S. and Canada.

“I can’t imagine a child returning to school and not having the supplies needed at home or in the classroom,” said Tiffany Hays, CEO and founder, FUEL + Focus Room. “The Backpack Challenge allowed the FUEL + Focus Room teams and the #MRX industry to make a difference in a child’s life, one Backpack at a time. ... Every child deserves to have the proper school supplies and we won’t stop until they do!”

Fuel + Focus Room had a book club anyone could join to participate in the readathon. They then competed both as a team and individually. Participants kept track of the minutes they read using the MREF Backpack Challenge Readathon website. Hays said her teams looks forward to participating in the backpack challenge every year and take pride and ownership in their contributions to make a difference in a child's life.

This year our participants read over 70,000 minutes! The top three readers won gift cards to Paramount Market Publishing Inc.
